Tritons Crown Four Event Champions at Yellow Jacket Stampede

The Iowa Central Rodeo Team competed at the Black Hills State University Yellow Jacket Stampede in Spearfish, SD April 26-27.

The Tritons finished third in both the men's and women's team standings and crowned four individual event champions.

Drew Lind was bareback riding champion, and Cody Owens was champion in saddle bronc.

Wyatt Heer took first in tie down roping and Rachel Werkman was champion in barrel racing.

Jenna Hume finished eighth in goat tying and fifth in team roping with partner Jesse Vesperman.

Cash Owens finished second in saddle bronc. Also finishing second was Dawson Davis, paired with Black Hills State's Luke Mavity in team roping.

Maddie Teague finished fifth overall in breakaway roping.

The duo of Coy Nelson and Wyatt Heer finished eighth in team roping, Dawson Davis finished 10th in tie down roping and Drake Foutch finished 11th in tie down.

The Triton men are presently in third place in the men's team standings and women are fourth in women's team standings in the Great Plains Region. They will wrap up the spring season May 3-4 at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
