Isabell West made the transition from high school to junior college when she made the decision to attend Iowa Central.
Now, the Minnesota native will make the leap to the Div. I level.
West signed with Murray State University to continue both her athletic and academic careers. She will join the Racers and head coach Rechelle Turner for the 2021-22 season.
"I know that this is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player," West said. "Murray State has a wonderful program and I am so excited to be a Racer. I am more than excited for this opportunity."
West, a sophomore, is currently averaging 19 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and one steal per game for the Tritons. She is shooting 54 percent from the field, 70 percent from the free throw line and 32 percent from three.
In her two seasons with Iowa Central, West has scored 677 points with 412 rebounds, 80 assists, 58 steals and 39 blocked shots.
"My time here at Iowa Central has helped me become the player I am today and grow into a better person off the court," West said. "I am extremely grateful for my time here and the people I have met along the way."
West is the ninth Triton basketball player to continue their career at the next level since 2019, joining her sister, Brittany West, who was an All-American before playing at William Penn.
She is the first Div. I transfer since Lydia Harvey in 2013-14. Harvey transferred to High Point University before finishing her career at Div. II Valdosta State University.
Murray State went 16-11 overall and 12-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference. They reached the second round of the OVC tournament, falling to Belmont.
