The Iowa Central wrestling team crowned two champions and pushed seven more through to nationals Sunday at the Central District Tournament.

Daniel Vargas and Boone McDermott each placed first for the Tritons, who were fourth overall in the team standings. 

Maddie Roney, Nolan Miller-Johnson, Andrew Gamble, Ashton Eyler and Ja'Quez Bostic placed high enough to advance, with Bret Minor and Anthony Johnson each earning wild card spots. 

"We have a lot of work to do," ICCC head coach Luke Moffitt said. "We are not comfortable with where we are at. We have a few weeks to change some things to be in a better position."

The NJCAA National Championships are March 6-7 in Council Bluffs.
