Kristen is an auditor at Central Bank in Ankeny, Kyle is a senior at Grand View University (Student Football Assistant Coach), Lauren is a senior at the University of Northern Iowa, and Cal is a senior at Manson Northwest-Webster (four sport athlete).

Father (Duane) was a successful high school football coach at Emmetsburg (339 career wins) - 7 state championships. Duane was named the 1999 National High School Football Coach of the Year - inducted into NHSAA Hall of Fame in June 2006.

Mother (Margaret) is a retired middle school teacher (Emmetsburg)
