Tritons take two against defending champs

The Iowa Central baseball team recorded a doubleheader sweep with Northern Oklahoma-Enid Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Tritons won, 13-1, completing the twinbill with a 4-2 victory.
 
Ryan Wickman had a homer, drove in four runs and scored twice, with Ryan Doran adding a double and three runs scored.
 
Devin Hurdle belted his first home run of the season, finishing with a pair of RBI in support of Brenden Roder, who struck out four.
 
Ben Gallaher had three hits and drove in a run, with Doran belting a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh.
 
Aaron Lang picked up the win, going six innings with Ben Detaeye earning the save.
 
Iowa Central opened its season with a tough 5-2 loss to Enid. Doran had a homer and Jayden Maifeld struck out five over five innings.
 
Nolan Johnson pitched three innings, striking out three with one hit allowed and a walk.
 
The Tritons return home before heading to Millington, Tenn. for a series of games Friday and Saturday in the Babe Howard Classic.
