Tritons split at U.S. Bank Stadium

The Iowa Central baseball team split in their first doubleheader at the home of the Minnesota Vikings.

The Tritons topped Bryant & Stratton College, 5-2, in the opener, before falling 5-3 in the second. The games took place late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Aaron Lang fired a complete game five-hitter in the opener, striking out nine. Ryan Wickman drove in two and had two hits, with Ryan Doran also scoring twice. 

In the second contest, Doran and Eduardo Noguera each drove in a run. Doran had two hits.

Nate Zavalney, Marshall Smith and Walter Long allowed just one run and two hits over six-plus innings in relief after Bryant & Stratton plated four runs in the first. 

Iowa Central returns to U.S. Bank Stadium for a doubleheader with Oakton on Saturday.
