Ace Blunt finds way to Omaha

Iowa Central's Jarrett Blunt continued to find himself on the mound as a member of the Iowa Central pitching staff.

Now, Blunt will take his talents to the next level, signing with the Omaha Mavericks.

"I want to thank everyone at Iowa Central for everything they have done for me over the past two years," Blunt said. "I also want to thank my family and friends for all the continued support throughout my baseball career.

"I can't wait to be a Mav."

Blunt went 6-3 over 12 starts as a freshman for the Tritons. He posted nine strikeouts per nine innings, finishing the season with 62 strikeouts in all against just 39 walks in 60-plus innings.

As a high school senior for Ottumwa, Blunt went 5-3 with a 1.94 earned run average and 71 strikeouts in 47 innings.
