Tritons come up short at NC Missouri

TRENTON, Mo. - The 20th-ranked Iowa Central baseball team had their six-game win streak come to an end here Thursday, falling to North Central Missouri, 9-2.

Brock Johnson was 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a double, Derek Kay had a two-run homer in the eighth and Ben DeTaeye recorded two hits to lead the Tritons (7-4 overall). 

Johnson also worked an inning on the mound, striking out two without allowing a hit or walk. Kai Reum pitched five innings in relief, striking out six with three hits allowed. 

Gavin Baker, Jack Sievers and Ben Gallaher all had a hit each for Iowa Central while Jake Swanson pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts.

The Tritons return to action on Saturday, hosting Dakota County at Ed Barbour Field. First-pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
