Split for Tritons vs. Northeast

The Iowa Central baseball team had to settle for a split with Northeast here Wednesday at Ed Barbour Field.

After winning the opener, 9-3, the Tritons fell in the second, 12-8.

Brock Johnson was 3-for-3 with two RBI, a run and a walk while Devin Hurdle had a homer and went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Max Holy scored three runs on two hits and an RBI with Ryan Wickman, Jack Sievers and Travis Rittenhouse each driving in a run.

Matthew Wilkinson went all seven innings, striking out nine with six hits allowed and no earned runs. 

Wickman and Sievers each had two hits in the setback, with Holy, Hurdle and Derek Kay driving in a pair each. Noah Susong and Johnson each had an RBI.

Iowa Central hosts Iowa Western for a pair of twinbills on Saturday and Sunday.
