NORFOLK, Neb. - Matthew Wilkinson gave the Iowa Central baseball team exactly what they needed here Wednesday, pitching a complete game as the Tritons finished with a split vs. Northeast.
Wilkinson struck out five and allowed just one earned run as Iowa Central won the opener, 2-1. Northeast rebounded to take the nightcap, 16-6.
Ryan Wickman had two hits and a run with Brock Johnson driving in a run for the Tritons (25-15 overall, 17-11 in ICCAC).
In the second game, Devin Hurdle was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI, Wickman had two hits and drove in a run, Jeff Lamp hit a homer and Max Holy was 2-for-2 with two walks.
Iowa Central returns home this weekend, hosting Southwestern for two games Saturday and two more Sunday at Ed Barbour Field.
