CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Central baseball team dropped a pair of games here Sunday to Kirkwood.

Scores were 7-6 and 17-8.

The Tritons used a two-run eighth to take a 6-4 lead before the Eagles responded with three to win it. Derek Kay had three hits, scored two runs and drove in another while both Brock Johnson and Ben DeTaeye had two hits.

DeTaeye drove in a pair and Johnson had one RBI. Kay and Ryan Wickman each stole a base.

Easton Dermody recorded seven strikeouts over seven innings on the mound.

Jack Sievers, who hit for the cycle on Saturday, had a home in the final game of the series, scoring twice. Wickman and Ben Gallaher each had two hits and drove in a pair of runs with DeTaeye adding another RBI and Wickman another steal.

The Tritons head to Centerville to face Indian Hills on Wednesday in their final regular season games.
