Tritons win season-opening series

ENID, Okla. - The Iowa Central baseball team took two-of-three from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid to begin the season.

The Tritons won the opener on Friday night, 6-4, dropped the second game, 4-3, but finished strong with a 7-0 win in the third. 

Easton Dermody and Brett Sears were each winners on the mound. Dermody tossed six innings of four-hit ball, striking out 12, while Sears went seven with one earned run allowed and five strikeouts. Matthew Wilkinson also picked up a save. 

Brock Johnson had a homer, drove in two, scored twice and had a steal in the 7-0 victory. Caleb Corbin and Trey Morris each added two hits, with Morris plating two runs.

Nick Baker had three hits in the opener while Cael Boyd had two and scored twice. Johnson had a triple and two RBI, with Max Holy drawing three walks and stealing a base.

Iowa Central heads to Millington, Tennessee on Friday for four games over two days.
