Tritons split four games in Millington

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The Iowa Central baseball team went 2-2 during a four-game stand here Friday and Saturday.

The Tritons picked up a 6-2 victory over Bryant & Stratton to go along with a 4-1 win over Cleveland State before dropping games to No. 3 Lincoln Land (6-5 in 14 innings) and SW Tennessee (8-6). 

In the win over Bryant & Stratton, John Klein tossed six innings of five-hit ball, striking out six. Jalen Martinez and Nick Baker each hit home runs, with Martinez driving in three and Baker two.

Brett Sears earned the win vs. Cleveland State, striking out five with just two hits allowed over five-plus innings. Matthew Wilkinson earned the save while Trey Morris had a homer and Baker two hits. 

Morris had three hits vs. Lincoln Land, Max Holy and Martinez drove in two and Easton Dermody picked up seven strikeouts on the mound. Martinez also had a homer.  

Tyler Olson picked up four strikeouts in two-plus innings of work vs. SW Tennessee as Teige Lethert drove in three with a homer and Evan Borst had three hits with two runs scored. 

Iowa Central is set for four more games back here Friday and Saturday.
