Baseball Wins Four More, Remains Undefeated

The Iowa Central baseball team remains unbeaten, recording four more wins this past weekend at Metropolitan and Neosho.

The Tritons (11-0 overall) won the first game at Metropolitan on Friday 6-3.

The Tritons were on the board first, scoring one run in the first inning. A single run in the fourth and one in the seventh put the Tritons up 3-0, keeping the Wolves scoreless until the eighth. Three runs in the ninth inning secured the Triton win.

Hunter Frost got the victory on the mound for the Tritons, with four strikeouts in seven innings.

Cooper Nicholson, Michael Siemer, Harrison Bowman, Luke Bohonek and Mausser each had an RBI for the Tritons.

 

The Tritons traveled to Neosho Saturday for the first of two games of the weekend with the Panthers.

The Tritons recorded the first five runs of the game in the fifth inning. One run in the sixth and two runs in the seventh secured the Tritons' 8-3 win.

Josh Kirchoff had the win on the mound for the Tritons, with 11 strikeouts in six innings.

Troy Berg led the Tritons with three RBIs and a home run. Bowman and Jake Busson each had two RBIs and Jace Ulrich added one.

 

Sunday morning, the Tritons played their second game with the Panthers, winning 6-2.

Strong first and second innings put the Tritons up 5-0 before the Panthers answered with two runs in the third. A single run in the fifth, followed by scoreless sixth and seventh innings, clinched the Triton victory.

Ian Culver recorded the win for the Tritons on the mound, with eight strikeouts in four innings.

Cooper Nicholson, Harrison Bowman and Will Smoot each recorded home runs for the Tritons.

 

The Tritons once again faced Metropolitan in the final game of the weekend.

Two runs by the Tritons in the second inning put them up 2-0 before the Wolves added a single run in the sixth narrowing the lead 2-1. Two runs in the seventh earned the 4-1 Triton victory.

Peter Johnson led Iowa Central at the plate with two RBIs and a home run. Copper Nicholson and Griffin Fenske each added one RBI.

Ryan Ohm had the win on the mound, allowing just one hit in seven innings.

The Tritons begin a stretch of nine home games Tuesday in an ICCAC matchup with Iowa Lakes.
