Baseball Cruises To 16-0

The Iowa Central baseball team dominated a three-game series with Highland Community College at Rogers Park this past weekend.

In Saturday's game, the Tritons (16-0 overall) wasted no time getting on the board, scoring all 26 of their runs in the first five innings. Sophomore pitcher Josh Kirchhoff recorded his fifth win of the season on the mound for the Tritons, with six strike-outs in five innings. 

The Triton offense was led by Harrison Bowman with two home runs, a double and four RBIs. Michael Siemer and Peter Johnson each added four RBIs, while Troy Berg and Jake Busson each had three.

In game one of Sunday's double header, the Tritons were on the board early, recording nine runs in the first inning.

Troy Berg led the Triton offense with four RBIs, a double and a home run. Harrison Bowman had three RBIs and Zakary Goodwin and Jake Busson each added two.

Ian Culver and Zach Bates each saw time on the mound for the Tritons. Culver (3-0) had five strikeouts and recorded the win.

The Tritons closed out the series with an 11-0 win over the Cougars.

Jack Mausser led the Tritons offensively in game three, recording four RBIs and a home run. Will Smoot added three RBIs and two doubles.

Freshman Ryan Ohm (3-0) kept the Cougars off the scoreboard with nine strikeouts for the win on the mound.

"This was the most complete weekend we have played," said Triton Head Coach Eric Stein. "Pitching, offensively and defensively our guys did exactly what they needed to do."

The Tritons continue their run of home games Thursday and Friday when Moberly Area visits Harlan Rogers for two double headers, followed by a Saturday double header and Sunday single game with Lake Region State College.
