Tritons split with NIACC

The fifth-ranked Iowa Central baseball team was forced to settle for a split here Saturday with North Iowa Area at Rogers Park.

After winning the opener, 5-4, the Tritons (29-5 overall, 7-5 in the ICCAC) dropped the nightcap, 8-6.

A four-run fourth erased a 2-0 deficit for Iowa Central in the first game before the Trojans rallied to tie it. The Tritons won it in the bottom of the seventh.

NIACC (13-20, 5-8) scored three in the second and four in the seventh to take command in game two before Iowa Central made it interesting with four in the bottom of the ninth.

These two teams will play a single game on Monday at 1 p.m.
