The seventh-ranked Iowa Central baseball team charged to a 30-1 victory over Iowa Lakes Thursday at Rogers Park.
The Tritons (34-8 overall, 12-8 ICCAC) scored 12 runs in the first and never looked back, allowing just one Laker run in the sixth. The 30 runs came off 22 hits while recording their 28th contest of the season of scoring at least 10 runs.
Cooper Nicholson led the Tritons offensively with 5 RBIs, a double and two home runs. Griffin Fenske added 4 RBIs, a double and a home run. Will Smoot, Peter Johnson, Jackson Tessman and Colin Richie each had 3 RBIs while Harrison Bowman, Jake Busson and Josh Hatano each had two.
Hunter Frost recorded his fourth win of the season, striking out five batters in six innings.
Iowa Central will host a weekend series with Indian Hills, starting with a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday at Harlan Rogers.
