Dahmouch, Busson Collect ICCAC Athlete of the Week Honors
Mohamed Dahmouch – Iowa Central – Freshman – 1500 Meters, Distance Medley Relay
Mohamed Dahmouch delivered an impressive performance at the Drake Relays this past week, finishing as the runner-up in the 1500 Meters, just behind a senior from a four-year school. Dahmouch clocked a time of 3:45.96, falling less than half a second short of first place. He led the race for the first 1100 meters but was narrowly overtaken in the final 400-meter stretch. In addition to his individual success, Dahmouch also played a key role in the Distance Medley, helping his team to a second-place finish with a time of 9:51.44. He ran the 1600 anchor of the event in 4:09.41.
Jake Busson – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Shortstop
Jake Busson powered through a strong week at the plate, highlighted by four home runs across five games. He went 6-for-18 (.333) with four homers and four walks, driving in 13 runs and scoring six himself. His biggest performance came in a 17-10 win over Southwestern, where despite going just 1-for-5, he made it count with a home run and five RBI. On the season, Busson continues to be a major offensive force with 17 home runs, 72 RBI, and 54 runs scored.
