Jake Astor, a native of North Liberty, Iowa, is in his sixth season as an assistant for the Iowa Central baseball team. Prior to joining the Tritons, Astor was the interim head baseball coach at Des Moines Area Community College during the 2016 season.

Astor served as an assistant for three seasons with DMACC before leading them to a 30-win season as the head coach. Overall, the Bears went 140-74 with Astor on the coaching staff.

As a player, Astor earned high honors including twice being named an NJCAA first team All-American along with being the 2009 national player of the year while playing for DMACC. He later attended Southern Arkansas University, garnering all-Gulf South Conference honors in 2010. 

Astor earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies at Southern Arkansas.
