Jake Michaelis enters his first season as an Assistant Cheer Coach for the Iowa Central Tritons!!  

Michaelis had a highly successful five-year stint as a student athlete for the Tritons. Jake was a NCA All American competing on Back-to-Back NCA National Championship Large Coed teams in 2021 and 2022. He also competed on a winning Cheer Ltd. At Canam Large Coed National Championship squad and was also part of a NCA National Runner Up squad that still has the highest score in school history and was deduction free at Nationals. Jake played a huge part in our transition from Intermediate to Advanced Large Coed helping the Tritons to a 3rd place finish in one of the toughest divisions in the country. This gives Michaelis a total of three rings with the Tritons. 

Jake’s previous cheer experience includes United All Stars where he competed on an “Undefeated” Open Level 4 team. Michaelis won the Open Championship in Orlando, Florida giving him his fourth ring in his cheer career. Jake also coaches the Level 5 Black Diamonds team at United All Stars where he is also the Tumbling Coordinator and provides private lessons to all ages. 

Jake cheered at Lakes Community High School in Illinois helping his team reach the IHSA State Cheer Championship his senior year.  

Jake currently is staffed with our housing department and graduated from Iowa Central with his Associate of Arts Degree and AAS in Criminal Justice.
