Stephanie Hood
Title: Assistant Dance Team Coach

Stephanie Hood, assistant Iowa Central dance team coach, grew up in the tiny town of Lohrville, Iowa. Here she attended South Central Calhoun High School, where she was a valued member of both the dance and cheerleading teams.

Shortly after graduating from high school in 2014, Hood went on to study at Iowa Central, where she earned a degree in Agriculture Business. While attending college, Hood continued to enhance her dancing abilities and was named the captain of Iowa Central’s dance team. Here she led her teammates to win numerous awards, both on a state and national level. In her sophomore year, she earned the title of Most Valuable Dancer.

After her time at Iowa Central, Hood attended Dordt College where she earned her bachelor’s degree and continued her dancing career as captain of the dance team. The team had much success, reaching new heights, and finishing in the top three at GPAC Competition and NAIA Regionals. For her contributions to the team, Hood was awarded individual honors, as well as being named an All-American in 2017.

Following the conferral of her Bachelor’s degree, a mere two weeks later in June 2018, Hood began her dance coaching career here at Iowa Central. She remains loyal to her roots and frequently choreographs for numerous high school and college dance teams across the state. Her choreography is nothing short of phenomenal and consistently wins awards, both in the state and region. Most notably, one of her routines has taken home the title of Runner-Up at the Wow Factor! Cheer and Dance Competition.

When Hood isn’t dancing, you can find her curled up on the couch with her Australian Shepherd puppy, Cleo, watching re-runs of Friends, and dreaming about her next competition.
