No. 15 Tritons look to bounce back on road

Iowa Central rolls past Coffeyville

HIGHLAND, Kan. - The 15th-ranked Iowa Central football team will conclude their three-game road trek here on Saturday against Highland.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Kessinger Field. The forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of rain and highs in the low 70s with winds out of the east at 11 miles per hour.

The Tritons (3-2 overall) had their three-game win streak snapped last week after traveling to Utah to face Snow, 30-20. Prior to that road trip, Iowa Central went to Illinois and came away with a 50-36 victory over College of DuPage.

In the season opener, the Tritons visited Kansas, falling to No. 2 Butler.

Along with suffering a defeat, Iowa Central also left Utah a banged up team. Quarterback Demarcus Irons is out with an injury, as Arthur Brantley replaces him. Irons went out early at Snow, with Brantley coming on and finishing 13-for-30 for 156 yards and a touchdown to Marrio Wright

The Tritons are averaging 30.6 poins per game, with Highland allowing just 17.8.

Highland (2-2) has alternated wins and losses, falling to Fort Scott, beating Ellsworth, losing to Butler and topping Coffeyville last week. They have won three in a row over Iowa Central, including a 21-18 victory last year.
