Taylor with big game in tough loss for Tritons

HIGHLAND, Kan. - Kurt Taylor ran for a career-high 215 yards, but 15th-ranked Iowa Central was unable to score the victory here Saturday, falling to Highland, 20-14.

Taylor scored a touchdown on a 75-yard run in the second half to get the Tritons (3-3 overall) on the board after Highland had taken a 14-0 lead. 

Following a scoreless third, Arthur Brantley capped a 12-play, 63-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to tie it at 20-all, but Highland answered to take the lead for good.

Brantley, starting in place of Demarcus Irons who was out with an injuy, completed 7 of 21 for 61 yards and added 94 yards rushing on the ground.

Tanarious Achan had five catches for 56 yards, Terrell Carey had two catches and Grant Walker ran for 45 yards. 

The Iowa Central defense held Highland to just six yards rushing. Eugene Brown had seven tackles, Daquan Cross and Malik Adams had six each, and Brandt Casey had five. Nathan Proctor recorded a sack.

After three road games in Illinois, Utah and Kansas, the Tritons return home this Saturday to face Garden City inside Dodger Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon.
