Iowa Central hits the field

After three long weeks on the road, the Iowa Central football team finally returns home to Dodger Stadium Saturday.

The Tritons face No. 12 Garden City with a noon kickoff.

Iowa Central (3-3 overall) went to Illinois, Utah and Kansas in consecutive weekends to face College of DuPage, No. 13 Snow and 20th-ranked Highland, finishing the journey 1-2.

Kurt Taylor ran for a career-high 215 yards vs. Highland last weekend, including a 75-yard touchdown. He has 432 yards rushing over his last three games with three scores.

Demarcus Irons will be a game-time decision at quarterback after suffering an injury at Snow. Arthur Brantley started last week and has 270 yards passing and 247 yards rushing with four total TDs on the year.

Tanarious Achan leads the receivers with 30 catches for 417 yards.

Iowa Central's defense is anchored by Brandt Casey, as the sophomore has 42 tackles. Lamont Bishop, Eugene Brown and Daquan Cross are all over 30 tackles on the year.

The forecast is for temperatures in the mid-60s with a 60 percent chance of showers and winds gusting out of the southwest at 16 mph.

Dating back to last season, the Tritons have won five consecutive games at home and are 7-1 under head coach Jesse Montalto.
