Six Iowa Central football players were recently named All-Americans by the NJCAA.

Desna Washington, Rex Van Wyhe and Jack Wilty each made second team with Reese Steele, Deonte Bryant and Jacob Camacho honorable mention.

The ICCAC produced 14 total players on the honor squads, as Iowa Western earned eight spots. The Reivers claimed the national title with a victory over Hutchinson earlier this month.

"It is a tremendous honor for each and every single one of our players to be named," ICCC head coach Jesse Montalto said. "These guys work so hard every single day to get better as both athletes and students, and this is a great mark for their resumes.

"We've worked really hard to build a strong program at Iowa Central."

The Tritons claimed a 12th consecutive postseason victory, besting Trinity Valley in Cedar Falls earlier this month.

Washington, who was named the conference offensive player of the year, finished second in the nation with 10 receiving touchdowns, third with 863 yards and fifth with 54 receptions.

Van Wyhe, who committed to Kansas State, led the Iowa Central defense with 79 tackles on the year. He also had 3.5 sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups.

Wilty and Steele were part of an offensive line that averaged 482 yards per game, which led the nation. They threw for almost 300 a contest and ran for 183 with 42 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing scores.

Bryant, who has committed to Central Michigan, had 45 tackles with 9.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss, while Camacho recorded 53 tackles with five tackles for loss, two interceptions and seven pass breakups.
