Tritons come from behind to beat No. 5 Garden City

Iowa Central Football remains unbeaten as they prevailed in a come from behind victory at Dodger Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The No. 9 Tritons scored on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Justin Silverstein to Mario Sanders with 2:41 remaining in the quarter. Kongolo Mwenemkamba returned the extra point to give the Tritons a 7-0 lead. Garden City scored a touchdown with 10 seconds remaining in the first to bring the game to a close 7-6 in favor of the Tritons at the end of the first quarter.

The Broncbusters scored one touchdown for six unanswered points in the second quarter, taking the lead 12-7 at the half.  Early in the third quarter the Broncbusters scored again on a 75-yard touchdown just 12 seconds into the second half with a two-point conversion to take Garden City up 20-7. The Tritons answered with a 35-yard pass from Silverstein to Sanders to bring cut the Broncbusters' lead to six points, 20-14. Sanders closed out the third with 20 seconds remaining in the quarter with a 16-yard touchdown to tie the game 20-20.

The Tritons scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to win 30-20.

Silverstein led the Tritons in passing with 100 percent of the yardage completed by Silverstein.
