COUNCIL BLUFFS — The 14th-ranked Iowa Central football team suffered a third consecutive loss here Saturday, falling to No. 2 Iowa Western, 34-14.

The Reivers clinched the ICCAC regular season title with the win and positioned themselves for a showdown with top-ranked Hutchinson this coming weekend. Last year, Iowa Western topped Hutchinson for the national title.

Down 13-0 in the third quarter, Eli West returned a missed field goal 86 yards for a score for the Tritons. The momentum, though, was short lived, as Louis Brooks and Kyrell Jordan caught TD passes from Hunter Watson to build the Reiver lead back up to 27-7.

Spencer Zinn provided the other score for Iowa Central, capping a short drive with a 1-yard TD plunge.

Jonathan Humpal led Iowa Western with 183 yards rushing while Bryant Williams added 78 and Watson had 76. He also was 7 of 17 passing for 126 yards and the two scores.

For the Tritons, Trevon Taylor had 69 yards passing and Justin Silverstein 47. Jalen Lueth caught a 38-yard pass.

Iowa Central concludes its regular season Saturday when they host Highland at noon at Dodger Stadium.
