ICCAC Athlete of the Week Honors for Bowers and Stubbs. 

 

JR Stubbs – Iowa Central - Sophomore

Iowa Central's JR Stubbs finished the Leatherneck Classic in Rockford, IL. in 57th place of the over 400 bowlers competing. Stubbs' best game of the day was his first, taking down 244 pins. The rest of the game scores went: 207, 199, 154 and 218. In five games Stubbs averaged 204.8 pins per game. He knocked down a total of 1024 pins on the day to achieve his top 25% finish. His coach Gregg Haden said of Stubbs, "He continues to get better with every tournament and is a great leader and teammate."

 

Cyncir Bowers – Iowa Central – Freshman – Running Back  

Cyncir Bowers carried much of the workload for Iowa Central on Saturday that saw the Tritons win their third game in a row. Bowers ran the ball 20 times for 202 yards and three scores. Obviously, the math comes out to an impressive 10 yards per carry. It was Bower's season-high, easily surpassing his previous mark of 140 -- and his third time of going over 100 yards this season. Heading into the week. the Bronbusters defense going into the week was giving up just 105 rushing yards a game. Over the course of the last five games, Bowers has scored nine rushing touchdowns and has run for 123 yards per game and 7.8 yards per carry.
