73 Commit to Join Iowa Central Football in 2025

Building on the depth of their current roster, 73 athletes from the 2025 recruitment class have committed to playing for Triton Football. "We are really excited about our '25 recruiting class. Our coaches did a great job of hitting the road early and identifying some of the best local and national talent," said Triton Head Coach, Jesse Montalto, on the committments, "This classes' size, speed, and potential should add great depth to our roster."

Of the 73 commitments, 20 came from within the state of Iowa, along with 22 from Minnesota, 16 from Illinois, 12 from Missouri, two from Wisconsin, and one from Alabama. 

IOWA COMMITMENTS:
Zavian Chones (Offensive Line, 6-5, 300, West Des Moines, IA)                                             
High School: Valley High School - 2nd Team All-District performer. "Zavian is a tough kid that comes from a great program and will bring a winning mentality to our team"

Sam Overbeck (Offensive Line, 6-4, 250, Mason City, IA)
High School: Mason City High School - "Sam is a hard-nosed OL that has his best football ahead of him."

Brady Schuler (Tight End, 6-5, 200, West Des Moines, IA)
High School: Waukee High School - "Brady is another player that comes from a great program that will find ways to make plays for our offense."

Karsten Bernholtz (Linebacker/DL, 6-0, 230, Ankeny, IA)
High School: Ankeny High School - 2nd team All-District - season stats: 21.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 6.5 TFL's. "Karsten had a big senior year and will bring that same physical presence to ICCC."

Denver Longden (Linebacker, 6-0, 175, Des Moines, IA)
High School: Lincoln High School - 1st Team All-Conference - season stats: 51 tackles, 4 TFL's. "Denver is a tough kid who likes to hit."

Jose Benitez (Offensive Line, Newton, IA)
High School: Newton High School - Benitez was an 1st Team All-District, All-Academic, Brady Klingsmith Lineman of the year, and Team Captain during his time at Newton. "Benitez is the ultimate competitor that brings a strong work ethic to the OL room."

Jakobe Worrels (Wide Receiver, 5-10, 160, Davenport, IA)
High School: North High School - Jakobe was North's leading receiver with 29 catches for 269 yards and 2 TD's. He was the Team MVP and Special teams player of the year. " He has versatility that can make an impact on offense and special teams."

Triston Brandsoy (Defensive End, 6-4, 280, Forest City, IA)
High School: Forest City High School - 2x All-District Performer, Academic First Team - season stats: 30.5 tackles, 2 sacks, team leading 9.5 TFL's. "Triston is one of the most dynamic DL in the state of Iowa. We look for Triston to make an immediate impact."

Aidan Holven-Rice (Offensive Line, 6-2, 285, Marion, IA)
High School: Linn Mar High School - 3x Honor Roll, 2nd Team All-Conference, All-Metro HM. "Aidan is a great worker that will bring toughness to our team."

Tristan Hill (Linebacker, 6-1, 230, Ankeny, IA)
High School: Ankeny High School - season stats: 49 tackles, 7 TFL's, and 3 sacks. "Tristan is a tough kid that brings effort, relentlessness, and high IQ to our LB room."

Davarrion Clark (Running Back, 5-8, 211, Cedar Falls, IA)
High School: Cedar Falls High School - 2nd Team All-State and led 5A in Touchdowns. Clark ran for 1480 yards and 26 TD's.  "Clark will help our athleticism at RB. His non-stop motor and ability to break tackles will be a great addition."

Mekyael Hall (Wide Receiver, 6-1, 180, Dubuque, IA)                                               
High School: Senior High School - 2x 2nd Team All-Conference, 2x 1st Team All-District performer - season stats: 44 catches, 532 Yards, 4 TD's.  "Hall is another WR that will increase our athleticism on that side of the ball. His instincts are tremendous for a HS kid."

CJ Yslas (Defensive Line, 6-0, 345, Cresco, IA)
High School: Crestwood High School - 3x All-Academic Team, Multiple year letterwinner. "CJ will be a big body in the interior that will be tough to move."

Gavin Kramer (Quarterback, 6-1, 195, Sabula, IA)
High School: Northeast High School - 3x 1st Team All-District, District Offensive Player of the Year, 4x 1st Team All-Area, National Honor Society - season stats: threw for 1051 yards and 13 TD's and ran for 1284 yards and 18 TD's. "Gavin is an elite playmaker that we can't wait to see on display."

AJ Nelson (Linebacker, 6-2, 200, Bettendorf, IA)
High School: Pleasant Valley High School - season stats: 44.5 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 TFL's. "AJ comes from an elite in state program that will bring tough and physical mindset to the LB room."

Brayden Thompson (Linebacker, 5-11, 190, Cresco, IA)
High School: Crestwood High School - 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-District as a Junior - season stats: 34 Tackles, 3 TFL's, and 2 INT. "Thompson is a playmaker on the defensive side that can make plays in the run and pass game."

Tyler Knight (Running Back, 5-11, 200, Center Point, IA)
High School: Center Point Urbana High School - All-District and All-Academic RB - season stats: 691 yards and 4 TD's along with 31.5 tackles and 5 TFL's. "Tyler will be a good addition to the RB room with his big play ability."

Jalen Johnson (Linebacker, 6-3, 205, Dubuque, IA)
High School: Dubuque Senior High School - season stats: 31.5 tackles, 8 TFL's, 3 Sacks, 2 FF. "Jalen length and ability to fly around the field will help us."

Gavin Stockdale (Tight End/Linebacker, 6-1, 200, Waverly, IA)
High School: Waverly Shell-Rock High School – season stats: 35 tackles, 19 solo, 1 sack, 5.5 TFL's. "Stockdale is a football player through and through. He plays a brand of football that is tough and disciplined. There is a bright future in store for him."

ALABAMA COMMITMENTS:

High School: James Clemens High School - season stats: 49 tackles, 2 FF, and 4 INT's.  "Myles really flies around and will be fast and physical with great ball skills."

ILLINOIS COMMITMENTS:
James Stampley Jr. (Running Back, 5-8, 175, Kankakee, IL)
High School: Kankakee High School - All-Conference and Offensive Player of the Year - season stats: 1313 All Purpose Yards and 20 TD's.  "James has great balance and ability to finish runs along with catching the ball well out of the backfield."

Kamarr Montford (Offensive Line, 6-5, 230, Peoria, IL)
High School: Peoria High School - All-Conference HM.  "Kamarr has great size and athletic ability. He can really get out and run while finishing blocks down the field."

Dorsey Doss (Linebacker, 6-2, 180, Peoria, IL)
High School: Peoria High School - 1st Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-State, 2nd All Time leader in sacks in Peoria HS history.  "Dorsey can really bend the edge and get to the Quarterback."

Elijah Venegas (Wide Receiver, 5-6, 140, Rock Island, IL)
High School: Rock Island High School - season stats: 45 receptions for 367 yards and 5 TD's.  "Elijah shows great ability to catch the ball in traffic and make people miss in open space."

Jae'Vion Clark-Pugh (Quarterback, 6-4, 185, Rock Island, IL)

Keyandre White (Linebacker, 6-0, 180, Kankakee, IL)
High School: Kankakee High School – season stats: 52 tackles, 7 TFL's, 2 sacks, 3 INT, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, and 3 defensive TD's. "White is an athletic player who can play anywhere on the field. He can run sideline to sideline and when it's time to come downhill he is violent. He is always around the ball."

High School: Wisconsin Lutheran High School - 2x All-Conference, All-Region, Lineman of the year. "Smith is a massive Tackle that can get off the ball and move people to go along with his outstanding athletic ability."
