For the first time in decades, someone other than Dennis Pilcher led the Iowa Central men's basketball team to a victory inside Hodges Fieldhouse.

Long-time assistant Chad Helle coached his first game as leader of the Triton program Sunday night, guiding Iowa Central to a 71-66 victory over Mount Mercy JV.

Marquis Henry scored a game-high 21 points, former St. Edmond standout Andrew Gibb added 16 and Javonte Keck scored 12 for the Tritons, who sealed the win with free throws down the stretch.

Henry sank five 3-pointers in his first game with Iowa Central. He also had seven rebounds, with Keck adding 12 boards to his total with four blocks, four assists and two steals.

Ayris Abdelnassar added nine points, five rebounds and two assists.

The Tritons return to action Tuesday night when they host Marshalltown at 7:30 p.m.
