ABERDEEN, S.D. — Andrew Gibb feels ready to take the next step in his journey as a college basketball player.

Following one season with Iowa Central, the former St. Edmond all-stater has decided to continue his career at Presentation College.

Presentation competes at the NAIA level as part of the North Star Athletic Association. This coming season will be the first with the NAIA combining divisions.

"My decision to go to Iowa Central for a year was a very good one," Gibb said. "I wanted to show that I could compete against top talent before I went on to a four-year program.

"It was an added bonus to be in Fort Dodge for another year to be around my family. I loved that my family and friends were able to watch me play as a college athlete."

Gibb averaged 15 points per game for the Tritons this past winter, shooting 49 percent from the field and 85 percent at the free throw line. He also averaged four rebounds and two assists per night.

During a November game with Northeast, Gibb scored 42 points, making 12 of 14 field goals and all 15 of his shots from the line. He scored over 20 points four other times and reached double figures 28 times on the year.

Gibb ended his career as St. Edmond's all-time leading scorer, finishing sixth in the state in scoring his senior year.

The Saints are coached by Alex Tyrrell, who just completed his first season. He previously coached at Vermont Tech, helping them reach the Final Four, and also had a stop at Iowa Lakes during her career.

"Very excited to have Andrew a part of the Saints family," Tyrrell posted on Twitter. "Saints fans will thoroughly enjoy his toughness and love for the game."

"I'm very excited for the future," Gibb said, "and to be able to keep playing college basketball."
