Tritons denied by NIACC

MASON CITY - The Iowa Central men were unable to keep up with North Iowa Area here Wednesday night in the second half, falling 76-60.

Javonte Keck had a double-double, scoring 14 points with 11 rebounds while PJ Ngambi added 13 points.

"We had another nice first half just like Saturday against Indian Hills," Iowa Central head coach Chad Helle said. "But we came out in the second half and didn't execute - just like against Indian Hills. We've got to do a better job on the defensive end of the court."

The Tritons led 33-27 at the break thanks to shooting 44 percent from the field. That number slipped to 36 in the second half when NIACC outscored them 49-27.

Ayris Abdelnassar had nine points, Jordan Majeed eight and Jayden Stephens seven for Iowa Central.

McKelary Robertson led the Trojans with a game-high 20.

Iowa Central is off until Tuesday when they travel to Council Bluffs to face Iowa Western.
