Ngambi's 23 leads Tritons on the road

NORFOLK, Neb. - PJ Ngambi scored 23 points, Ayris Abdelnassar added 14 and the Iowa Central men posted a 69-62 victory over Northeast here Wednesday night.

Ngambi knocked down 11 of 14 shots and also had seven rebounds and two steals for the Tritons (6-10 overall, 6-10 in ICCAC), who completed a season sweep of the Hawks.

Javonte Keck chipped in 11 points with eight rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots while Uzo Dibiamaka had six points and six rebounds.

Iowa Central and Northeast were tied at 35-all at the break after Ngambi scored late in the half.

Over the final 20 minutes, the Tritons shot just under 47 percent from the field and received 16 combined points from Ngambi and Keck.

Zavian Ricks had seven points off the bench and Jett Pinneo six, knocking down three combined 3-pointers.

For Northeast, Michael Anderson had 20 points and Justin Hiser 11.

The Tritons return home on Saturday, welcoming in Indian Hills to Hodges Fieldhouse for a 3 p.m. tip.
