Iowa Central scores key road victory

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Iowa Central men found a way here Saturday afternoon.

In need of a victory, the Tritons clamped down and scored a double-overtime triumph over Dakota County, 76-74.

Javonte Keck played over 53 minutes, scoring 31 points with five made 3-pointers. Keck also had five rebounds and a blocked shot.

Kevin Taylor recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points with 12 rebounds, while Jordan Majeed and Kyler Matthias each had 11.

"Guys really stepped up," Iowa Central head coach Chad Helle said. "We needed a win and we were able to get it on the road in a tough environment against a good team that beat us already this year. I really saw them come together as a team and that was a great thing."

Iowa Central scored 52 points in the second half.

Last month, Iowa Central came up short at home vs. Dakota County, 76-74.

The Tritons return to ICCAC play on Wednesday at Estherville vs. Iowa Lakes.
