Tritons can't hold off Kirkwood rally

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Central men held a nine-point lead at No. 14 Kirkwood, but the Eagles rallied for a 66-57 victory here Saturday afternoon.

Javonte Keck scored 14 points as the Tritons (9-9 overall, 1-4 in ICCAC) led 31-22 at the break. Josh Baker had six points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in the opening 20 minutes. 

Over the second half, though, Kirkwood (11-6, 3-2) answered, outscoring Iowa Central 44-26. 

Keck finished with 23 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots, Kael Stulo knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 12 points, while Baker had a team-high seven rebounds. 

For the Eagles, Dre Anderson had 20 points, DaChaun Anderson 18 with 16 rebounds, and Dante Eldridge scored 16 points. Kirkwood was plus-10 at the free throw line and outscored the Tritons 15-0 on points off turnovers. 

Iowa Central returns home on Wednesday to host Northeast inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m.
