Late rally not enough for Tritons

MASON CITY - Down by 16 at the break, the Iowa Central men fought back before coming up short here Wednesday night at North Iowa Area, 74-65.

Javonte Keck had a team-high 16 points, while Kevin Taylor recorded a double-double, scoring 12 with 10 rebounds. Nick Black added 12 points with both Josh Baker and Kyler Matthias chipping in eight.

The Tritons knocked down six 3-pointers in the second half to spur the rally. 

For the Trojans, Bradley Andrews had 19 and Jacques Kelly 14. 

Keck also had seven rebounds and five assists, with Kael Stulo dishing out four assists and scoring three points. Matthias and Taylor each had two steals, and Taylor had three assists. 

Iowa Central returns to action Saturday at home vs. Iowa Western beginning at 3 p.m.
