MASON CITY - The Iowa Central men were unable to gain traction early here Saturday vs. Kirkwood, falling in the Region XI Tournament quarterfinals, 78-44.

The Eagles raced out to a commanding 39-9 lead after the first 20 minutes of play. Iowa Central did battle to a 39-35 second half in favor of Kirkwood. 

Josh Baker scored 11 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a blocked shot, while Kevin Taylor had nine points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. 

Javonte Keck scored seven points and Kael Stulo six, with Owen Thomas adding five. 

For the Eagles, Dre Anderson had 13, Cassius Brooks 11 and both Dante Eldridge and Arthur Cox 10. Kirkwood knocked down 11 three-pointers in the game and out-rebounded the Tritons 59-29.
