After holding a slim halftime lead, the Iowa Central men were unable to fight past Dakota County here Friday night, falling 72-63 inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
The Tritons led 25-24 at the break, but the Blue Knights outscored them 48-38 over the final 20 minutes to claim the win and complete the opening day of the Great Western Dining Classic.
Kevin Taylor had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, adding four steals and two assists. Kyler Matthias had nine points while Darius Henderson, Cole Tunender and Miles Fant each had seven.
Henderson's 3-pointer made it 38-37 in the second, but Dakota County went on a 14-2 run.
Four players reached double figures for Dakota County, as Keenan Jones scored 17 and Jeremy Wanguhu added 14. D'Sean Larkins scored 11 with 10 rebounds and Dontray Johnson posted 10.
