The Iowa Central men scratched and clawed their way back here Wednesday night vs. Marshalltown.

But the Tigers did just enough late to secure a 72-67 win inside Hodges Fieldhouse.

After falling behind by 16 at the half, the Tritons cut the deficit to three with just over two minutes to play. From there, though, Marshalltown closed things out.

Iowa Central (4-13 overall) was paed by Randy Latham's 17 points with ID Coleman adding 11. Daviyon Gaston had nine points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, and Miles Fant recorded 10 rebounds with three assists and three blocked shots.

For the Tigers (6-12), Tyler Burrows had 19, Joe Scott 15 and Angus Ole 14.

"When you put yourself in a hole like we did at the half, that makes it really tough to dig out of," ICCC head coach Chad Helle said. "I was proud of the way we played in the second half as we showed some promise there. We just have to put it together for a complete 40 minutes."

This was the fifth loss by single digits for the Tritons on the year.

Jordan Fenderson chipped in nine points and five rebounds off the bench with Riley Edwards adding six points with a pair of made 3-pointers.

Iowa Central will try to snap a three-game losing skid when they travel to Cedar Rapids on Saturday to face No. 10 Kirkwood. The Tritons turn right back around and host the Eagles on Monday.
