Triton Men Advance with 82-71 Win Over NIACC

Triton Mens Basketball advanced in regional play

CRESTON — The Iowa Central men put together a big second half to best North Iowa Area here Friday night at the Region XI Tournament, 82-71.

The Tritons (7-23 overall) advance to take on top-seed Des Moines Area back here on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Sophomore Miles Fant had a huge game again, scoring 30 points with 11 rebounds to lead Iowa Central. The Tritons outscored the Trojans over the final 20 minutes of play, 40-27, to erase a one-point halftime deficit.

Sophomore Deuce Blake added 10 points and both Riley Edwards and Chase Low scored nine.

Blake also had seven rebounds with Jordan Fenderson chipping in seven points.

Adam Hackett paced NIACC with 15 while Omarion Roberts had 14 and Wyatt Helming 12.

During the regular season, the Bears swept the series with Iowa Central.

Iowa Lakes faces Northeast, Kirkwood meets Southwestern and Ellsworth takes on Iowa Western in the other quarterfinal round games in the men's tournament.
