Tritons Get Kirsch First Home Win at Hodges
Triton Head Coach, Ryan Kirsch walked on to Dennis Pilcher Court for the first time in front of the home crowd at Hodges Fieldhouse on Wednesday (11/13) night for the Tritons' home opener with Central-Columbus. Coach Kirsch is excited to showcase the Tritons' style of play, "We want to showcase a team that Fort Dodge can be proud of. We're a scrappy, blue-collar team that can move the basketball and we have a lot of guys that can put the ball in the basket."
Twelve Tritons did just that in a dominant 105-79 victory over the Raiders with Jordan Cain's 23 points leading the way. The Tritons shot 53% from the field and were 12-of-14 (85%) from the line. Along with Cain, four other Tritons reached double figures, Jalen Wynter (14), Aleix Sempere Serrano (14), Lane Campbell (12), and Vice Grbic (12). "We shot the ball well tonight. We came in at near 40% from the floor, so it was good to see us improve on that. We also won the rebounding battle and turnover margin." said Kirsch.
Serrano pulled down 10 rebounds to go with his 14 points. CJ Mitchell lead the Tritons with five assists.
Kirsch was excited to get his first win at home, but knows there is still work to do, "We are nowhere near where we want to be. We just have to keep grinding. We will continue to find consistency if guys but into their role. I'm happy with the depth that we have."
