Triton Men Fall to Iowa Lakes in Thriller at Hodges

The atmosphere in Hodges Fieldhouse was electric on Wednesday (1/22) night for a conference battle with Iowa Lakes for the Triton Men.

Down eleven at half, the Tritons outscored the Lakers 46-39 in the second half before falling 75-71. 

Trailing by seven with :53 seconds left, Daviyon Gaston scored five unanswered to narrow the Laker's lead to 73-71 before missing a game-tying shot with :03 left on the clock. The Lakers would make two free throws to seal the victory.

The Tritons were led by Jordan Cain with 23 points, five rebounds and five steals. Cain was 8 of 13 from the field and 7 of 10 from the line. Lane Campbell added 11 points, five rebounds, two assists  and two steals.

As a team, the Tritons shot 37.3% (25-67) from the field, 25.9% (7-27) from 3PT, and 56% (14-25) from the free throw line. They forced the Lakers into 25 turnovers which led to 26 points while only committing only eight themselves.

The Tritons travel to Iowa Falls on Saturday, January 25 for a conference matchup with Ellsworth. Tip is set for 3:00 PM.
