Extending their winning streak to six, the Triton Men defeated Western Iowa Tech, 84-73, in Sioux City on Wednesday (2/26) night. The win also locked the Tritons into a share of third place in the final ICCAC conference standings.

"We've been on a little bit of run. We've had a nice month down the stretch," said Triton Head Coach, Ryan Kirsch on the Tritons final regular season game. "I'm proud of our team and coaching staff. Proud of them for putting in the work and making it happen."

In a game that was close throughout, Daviyon Gaston hit a three point shot with three minutes to play that stretched the Triton lead to 12 and secured the Triton victory.

"They're very athletic. They play very aggressive and are tough to guard," said Kirsch. "We battled. Every win for us matters."

Jordan Cain led the Tritons with 16 points. Lane Campbell added 15 points and Aleix Sempere Serrano pulled down six rebounds to go with nine points.

The Tritons now look ahead to postseason play. They head into the Region 11 Tournament as the #4 seed and host Iowa Lakes on Saturday (3/1) at Hodges Fieldhouse with tip set for 3:00 PM. The Tritons fell to Iowa Lakes in both regular season meetings, falling 81-79 in Estherville and 74-71 at Hodges.

"Being able to host in our first year as a staff is exciting. It's exciting for our program," said Kirsch on the upcoming tournament. "We need our Triton fans to fill Hodges Fieldhouse. We're excited for Saturday afternoon."
