Malik Kelly joined the Men’s Basketball staff in August of 2023.  Prior to Iowa Central, Malik was the assistant coach at Central Lakes College in Brainard, MN for 2 seasons.  Malik is a former Central Lakes College basketball player. During his two seasons, Malik was the starting point guard for the first team in school history to beat the #1 Team in the Country (Suffolk County College) at the National Tournament.  Malik won the state championship, regional championship, and made it to the national tournament before losing in the Final Four.  After graduating from CLC Malik went on to play at Columbus State University which he was part of the team that went on to the NCAA D2 National Tournament. Malik finished his education at Southwest Minnesota State University in the Spring of 2023.
