Tritons battle NCAA Div. I schools at Midwest Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Iowa Central bowling teams were in action this past weekend at the 49th annual Midwest Collegiate Championships.

The Triton women finished 16th overall with a team score of 8,021. St. Francis University was crowned champions wiith 8,928. Iowa Central was the highest-finishing junior college and placed ahead of teams from Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ball State and Illinois State.

Evie Roen finished in 35th overall and Toni Hansen was 66th.

The Triton men were 21st overall with a score of 8,651, finishing ahead of Highland. McKendree University was first with 9,575. Iowa Central placed ahead of Minnesota State, Toledo, Michigan State and Purdue.

Ryan Dudley placed 27th overall and Raymond Wiegand was 28th. Nickolas Borgman finished in 34th.

Next action for the Tritons will be Oct. 19-20 when they compete at Midstates in Wichita, Kan.
