Iowa Central begins second season under Graewin

2019-20 Triton Golf Team

Kris Graewin embarks on his second season leading the Iowa Central men's and women's golf programs this fall, as the Tritons look to compete in the ultra-tough ICCAC.

Graewin, a former all-North Star Athletic Association first team selection while competing at Viterbo University, is a former assistant coach at Central College.

The Triton men feature four returning players in Jaxon Myers, Tyler Kopp, Sam Peterson and Luke Jones. Jon Forsting, Kyle Wilee, Cody Dirks and Lane Stanley are newcomers for Graewin.

Myers played at both St. Edmond and Southeast Valley, with Jones, Kopp, Price and Stanley also being native Iowans.

On the women's side, Taylor Thede and MacKenzie Trinkle are back with experience, as Kelly Boleyn joins them. All three are former Iowa high school players, with Boleyn having helped lead Humboldt to a strong finish at state this past spring.

"I think we have a great chance to be competitive on both the men's and women's side this year," Graewin said. "We have a ton of talent coming in this year and have some nice experience returning. Our freshmen will be thrown in to the fire from the start and should provide us with some opportunities this year."

Iowa Central hits the links Friday, September 6 at Brooks Nationl Golf Course for the Iowa Lakes Fall Invitational. They head to Madison College on Saturday, September 7.
