The Iowa Central men's golf team placed sixth at the NJCAA Region XI Fall Preview, firing a team score of 333.

Des Moines Area was first followed by Kirkwood and Northeast. Noah Hartman of DMACC fired an even-par round of 72 to claim medalist honors.

Kyle Wille led the Tritons, as he shot an 80 to place in a tie for 15th. Cody Dirks was 24th with an 83 and Joseph Forsting finished 32nd with an 85. Lane Stanley carded an 86 to tie for 33rd.

"After a very positive fall season, I was pretty disappointed with our round," ICCC head coach Kris Graewin said. "I had some high expectations coming into this tournament and we did not deliver. I'm hopeful that this sour taste in the guys' mouth will lead to a very productive winter. We've got a lot of work to do to achieve the goals that we've set for ourselves.

"I thought we showed some softness and that will be something that will be addressed and corrected. Good teams and good players don't allow for excuses to play a role in their rounds. And we had a lot of excuses."
