Iowa Central men's golfers Nico Booyens and Bailey Doe competed at the NJCAA Men's National Golf Tournament May 21-24.
Booyens, a sophomore, secured a bid to Nationals by finishing fifth at the North Central District Championships earlier this month. Booyens finished rounds one and two with scores of 80 and 71 (1 under par) and had scores of 76 and 77 in rounds three and four, for a combined score of 304 (+16) to finish the tournament in a tie 34th place overall. Booyens finished his two-year career with the Tritons and will play golf for Cal State Fullerton in the fall.
Doe, a freshman, earned a bid to the national tournament with a seventh-place finish at districts. Doe finished rounds one and two with a 78 and 81 and shot 78 and 74 in rounds three and four for a combined score of 311 (+23), finishing nationals tied for 60th overall. Doe will return for another season with the Tritons in the fall.
