Kris Graewin, a Prairie du Chien, Wis. native, took over the reins at Iowa Central in June 2018. Graewin earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Leadership at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. in 2016. During his playing career, he was a three-year captain and earned first-team all-North Star Athletic Association honors his final season at Viterbo.

Following his time in La Crosse, he began working at Central College as an intern in the sports information department. He spent two years at Central in the sports information department and was the assistant men’s golf coach under Jon Olson during the 2017-18 season.

Graewin is hoping to take the Tritons to unchartered territory during his tenure.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that Iowa Central has given me,” Graewin said. “Everything about the campus here at Iowa Central was appealing to me and I’m looking forward to building a program that makes everyone in Triton Nation proud. I love to win and my goal is for our programs to not only be competitive at the regional level but also nationally. I’ve always wanted my athletes to be relaxed on the golf course because when a player is relaxed and confident, anything is possible.”

During the 2021 season, Graewin led the Tritons to the highest finish in program history at nationals, placing fourth at the NJCAA Div. II Championship. Joe Forsting recorded the highest individual finish for a player, placing 15th overall.

On the women's side, Kelly Boleyn advanced to nationals for the Tritons.

Graewin was named the 2021 ICCAC Div. II Men's Golf Coach of the Year with Iowa Central placing second at the Region XI Tournament and finishing ranked in the Top-10. Three Tritons were named all-region with Forsting earning both all-tournament and All-America honors at nationals. Tomas Ribeiro and Austin Erickson were also named All-Americans.
