Coming off a big win over Minnesota, the Iowa Central rugby team was unable to keep the momentum going, falling to Lindenwood, 58-0.

Lindenwood led 39-0 at the half and added 19 more in the second.

"We got smacked hard," ICCC head coach Brent Nelson said. "Lindenwood marched out a proper side and we didnát respond well. Quite frankly, we played scared and intimidated in the first half."

Nelson, though, was pleased with the response he received after the break from his players.

"Our defense showed some pride in the second half," Nelson said. "To be honest, Lindenwood was the best team we've ever played in the history of our program.

"Having pride in what you do whether it's your job or homework or creating something artistically or rugby must be a priority. If you don't back yourself, you may be waiting a long time for someone to come along and hold your hand."

Iowa Central concludes the fall season with a record of 7-3 including wins over Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame College, Iowa State and Wisconsin.

The Tritons are awaiting news from USA Rugby on their postseason fate.

In the B side match, Lindenwood won, 46-19.

"The B side was bound and determined to not let the same thing happen to them as the A side," Nelson said. "And they didn't disappoint. Lindenwood, though, was able to take advantage of our lack of depth."

Gus Sokol had two tries early on and Hayden Detiege added another. Cyele Banks and Ezra Ulberg each had a try.
